Eucerin Intensive Lip Balm

The unique combination of ingredients in Eucerin Intensive Lip Balm makes it a highly effective solution for extremely dry, cracked or chapped lips;

  • Soothing Licochalcone A reduces redness due to dryness and calms skin irritation,
  • Evening primrose oil helps protect the lips’ moisture barrier
  • Panthenol moisturises and supports dry skin healing
  • Glycerol intensively moisturises to leave lips feeling soft and smooth.

Eucerin Intensive Lip Balm is also suitable for use on the perioral skin around the mouth to reduce redness due to dryness.

Clinical Formula

Panthenol

Panthenol, also known as dexpanthenol or proVitamin B5, is a derivative of Vitamin B5 which helps attract water and keep it in the skin, making it a very effective moisturizer.

Glyco-glycerol

Being a derivative of the skin’s own humectant glycerol, glyercyl glucosides facilitate epidermal moisturization. Dry, stressed skin shows significant reduced aquaporin channels. These channels control the transport of cellular water and other small solutes between and into cells. Thus, playing an important role in maintaining epidermal water balance. The most abundant aquaporin in the epidermis is aquaporin-3 (AQP3). Glucosylglycerol (Gluco-glycerol) stimulates the expression of AQP3 in epidermal skin cells and has been shown to stimulate the formation of aquaporin 3 (AQP3) in skin cells, thus increasing the number of aquaporins that control water transport in and out of cells.

Glycerin

Glycerine, also called glycerol, is a humectant, which means it helps attract water thereby trapping it in the skin. This makes it a very effective moisturizer, as it both smoothes dry skin and gives protection and care. Glycerol is colourless, odourless and non-toxic.

FAQ

Why do I need a special lip care product?

Our lips are commonly exposed to the causes of dry skin, such as cold weather, constant wetting and drying, and sunshine. Lip skin is also extremely thin, and cannot produce the natural protective layer the rest of your skin produces to protect itself from drying out. This combination of factors makes your lips highly vulnerable to becoming very dry, cracked, irritated or even infected. Learn more about skin on your lips.

Is Eucerin Acute Lip Balm safe for children?

Yes, it can be used on children over the age of three.
